The E-Myth Revisited, Michael E. Gerber, HarperBusiness

Available Here: The E-Myth Revisited

If you are a business owner or self employed, or want to own a business or be self employed this is one of those books that you must read.  This book gets at the root of why people like you and I go into business for ourselves (sometimes for reasons we don’t even consciously realize) and why most small businesses fail.  It also shows why businesses succeed and breaks down the different components of success in a way that the most novice business people can get a feel for what they need to do and become in order to make their business dream a reality.   Knowing how to work in the business is not enough, we must learn to work on the business and learn how to balance the entrepreneurial, managerial, and technical roles we play.

Learned Optimism - How To Change Your Mind And Your Life, Martin E.P. Seligman, PH.D.

Available Here: Learned Optimism: How to Change Your Mind & Your Life

This book was written especially for those who have a greater tendency towards pessimism and therefore are more likely to be stopped in their tracks by set-backs and are more susceptible to depression.  People in the sales profession or in business for themselves who face daily set-backs and criticism will especially benefit from learning how to change the way they think about so-called "failures" and create more power and more optimism in their life.

Influence; The Science of Persuasion, Robert B. Cialdini, PHD

One of the best books ever written on human psychology and the art of persuasion.  Every marketer must read this book.
